BABYTOP'S: TOP 50 SONGS OF 2011

As the famous year of 2011 closes down those who really care about the music starts to analyse and reflects about all the music that they have been listening to throughout the whole 12 calendar months. And of course one thing comes up to everybody minds is what has been the best song of 2011. This year we have seen the undercover music becoming our mainstream music especially with the growth of social networks being at it highest level of usage as ever this meant that people were no longer relying on Television Music feeding but people were browsing for some brilliant undercover talents out there. 50. David Guetta Feat Taio Cruz & Ludacris - Little bad girl
Well this song goes HAM in the club, since most of David Guetta songs are pretty good but they almost sound the same, I decided to pick this one out of the bunch. Listen to it below:


 
49. Mishal Moore - Ain't over (Document one remix)
I remember listening to this track in a rave (Party) last year and it was insane and since that night I was hooked to this tune, and whenever this song comes up on my ipod i was always shake leg.

48. LLoyd Feat K'Naan, R.Kelly & Kerri Hilson - World Cry
This song was featured in LLoyd's Kings of Heart album, the album was really average to be honest but its quite ironic that people praises songs that features lyrics of sex, drugs, money and girls but meaningful songs such as this one gets no attention, but here in Babytop we give it the nod on to number 48.

 
47. Lanbrinth feat Tinie Tempah - Earthquake
"Labrinth come in!" ...the UK based artist Labrinth who was introduced to us by Tnie tempah on his smashing hit Pass Out. This year he decided to stand on his own two feet during an earquake in his number 1 hit Earquake. With his influence from the Dubstep genre this song got a heavy bass and whoosing sound which is quarateen to get you on your two feet.

 
47. Bon Iver - Holocene
"Justin Vernon's (Bon Iver) music is such an amazing work of art, every note is sung and played to perfection, as a individual his music has had a massive impact on my life throughout the past years, and I believe that I will be listening to his songs for many years to come! and Holocene is just a really great song.


45. Pusha T - My God
An excellent song i gotta say, Pusha T is very underrated.


44. Wiz Khalifa - I Roll up

43. Skrillex - Father Said
As the dubstep genre has blown up in the state, one obvious artist everyone wants to work with is the wierd looking Skrillex and this tune just proves how f**** he is on mixing. This tune here is guarantee to get the whole crowd in the a damped warehouse jumped.


42. Wretch 32 - Traktor
If you have not heard of Wretch 32, basically he's a British based rapper who had quite a successful year in 2011, where he debuted his first album Black which had very good reviews from the music critics/professionals. And this song Traktor was the song that had everybody ears pipping for him. Listen to the song above.
41. Theophilus London - I Stand Alone
This dude Theophilus London is the definition of the word swag, not only with his style of dress but also with his style of music. I Stand alone, is the pure example of what I mean of him. Listen below.


40. Wale Feat Miguel - Lotus Flower Bomb

39. Meek Mill feat Rick Ross - Imma Boss
Ok, the image is not the official single of Meek Mill's Imma Boss,..but the song was somehow was worshipped by the hood N**** and I can see why. Meek Mill who is signed to Rick Ross's Maybach Music really had his music carrer blowing up in 2011, and now we can't wait to see what he's got for us this year.


38. Pitbull Feat Neyo - Give me everything
I don't really know in the state but here in the UK if were caught up in a nightclub there was a 99.9% that you'll hear the DJ play this song, and this song never dissapointed everytime you hear it.

 
37. Arcade Fire - Suburbs (Mr. Little Jeans Remix)
Apparently the call this genre a pre-dustep/ mellow-dubstep what it is, this song is the pure fine example of the genre. Breakage took Arcade Fire well know song The Surburbs and turned into a really chilled song, which is quaranteen to get your mind lost while listening to it. 36. Calvin Harris - Feel So Close
Well in 2011 Calvin harris did really provide us with some good ass dance floor songs, including Bounce and Found Love with Rihanna but, I feel so Close was my best out of the bunch. Listen to it below.

35. The Weeknd - The Zone
Well well what can we say aboutthis dude  The Weeknd he's one of the freshest breath of 2011 discovering talent, voice like MJ and his heart full of smokes, The Weeknd who provided to us the Balloons trilogy of: House Of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes of Silent. The toronto finest colloborated with his toronto's right hand man Drake into The Zone. Please just listen to the song below. 


34. J. Cole - Dollars and a Dream III
It was really a Cole World last year, wasn't it?...and this here song is the anthem for all the hustlers out there.

26. Claire Maguire - Ain't nobody (Breakeage remix)
Recently featured on the brand new 2011 Renault Clio advert this is a very mellow tune.


25. Frank Ocean - Swim Good
Frank Ocean Swim Good is honest one the best song I have ever heard in many years, and he's really have set a new trend of RnB. Hybrid.

24. Ben Howard - Keep Your Head up 
Ben Howard an indie/folks music British artrist who debuted his Every kingdom album which is one of my favouirte album of 2011, and this song is ultimate good mood song. Listen/Watvh below:

20. Kreayshawn - Gucci
Origin from Oakland, The swaggest girl of 2011; Kreayshawn, made a very controversial dissing song against all of the High Fashion labels; Gucci, Louis Vutton, Fendi and Prada. Please get swag with it on the link below.


19. SBTRKT - Wildfire
SBTRKT (pronounced as Subtrack) are literally my favourite band at the moment, the first I heard them was from this song; Wildfire featuring Drake, since then I was hooked onto them. Check out their SBTRKT album you'll not be dissapointed.

She was announced as BBC fresh talent of 2011. I kind of discovered Lana Del Rey in the closing stages of the year 2011 and when I first saw her in Video Games I straight away fell in love with her look and her voice..it was a really tough choice whether to pick Video Games or this song, but I decided to go with Blue Jeans. So peeps enjoy the song below and watch out for her debut album Born To Die which is due later this month.


17. Lil Wayne Feat Rick Ross - John
Lil Wayne and Ricky Rozzay shuts down this song to the fullest...John was one of the first recorded song that Wayne recorded when he was released out of the prison, and it was nice to see Wayne still delivering those fireman spitting verses. Listen to it below.

13. The Roots - Sleep
In 2011, we saw the return of the famous soul, hip hop group of The Roots with their Undun album and this song Sleep stood out from me. Listen to it below.


12. J. Cole - Loset Ones
Hip Hop as we knew it back in the days, it was really nice of J.Cole to release a meaningful joint as this one. Lost Ones; a song is about a young man who's barely on his 20s, he hasn't got a job etc..but he accidently knocks up (Pregnant) his girlfriend...listen to the rest of the story on the link below.


11. Jay-Z & Kanye West - Otis
When Otis Redding meets two of the greatest rappers of mordern hip hop generation it only means one thing greatness...this song is really off the chain, hip hop at its very best. Please do yourself a favour and listen to it below. or watch Jay & Ye destroys their Maybach in HERE.

Another British growing talent, with a voice that can silence the whole room...espcially in this song. Please listen to it below.


9. Tyler the Creator - Yonkers
The video of Yonkers was peeped to be as the Music Video of 2010, by Kanye West...and the song itself contains soo much contreversials some people somehow thinks that the song was influence by the "illumunati" and some people said that the "illuminati" doesn't exist...but one thing for sure that we know existed in this song is the diss targeting Bruno Mars and B.O.B. , with soo much contraversial in one song, this song had to be in my top 10. So peeps enjoy it or not, whatever!


8. Kendrick Lamar - ADHD
A young Comptoner named Kendrick Lamar, you better remember this name because i predict this year to be his best year ever...he showed the critics and hip hop what he's capable of in  2011, in this album Section 80, which I'll definitely put as one of my top 5 albums of 2011...ADHD his just one of those drug related, trippy song but at its very best. Listen to it below.

Rick Ross - Hustle Hard (remix)
"Hustle, Hustle..hard!" I bet you have heard this say at least once in the streets, over the internet or at work.. basically the song came from the young Ace Hood, another brilliant fresh face of 2011, who gave all the hustlers out there a song that can be a motivation for them to hustle hard everyday. 5. DJ Khaled feat Drake, Lil Wayne
Rick Ross - I'm on one
This song was for the street hustlers, the club feinds, the rich folks sitting on millions of pounds/dollars..this song was one of the anthem of the year 2011, really DJ Khaled did really produce an iconic song in this album.


4. Jay-Z & Kanye West - Niggas in Paris
I read one article in the internet where they said that Jay-Z & Kanye West, played this song 10 times in one of they show during their tour in December, and everytime they wheeel it up (replay) the crowd went Cray!.


3. Drake - Marvin's Room
Drizzy Drake went cold and heartbroken in TakeCare and this song is the fine example of that...this song was remixed by every RnB artist you can think of, but Drizzy Drake's original still remained the best. Enjoy it below and Takecare.


2. The Weeknd - The Morning
This song is perfection at its very best...when the voice, the instruments and lyrics all meets halfway gives you a sound of a perfect record and this song is a perfect example of it. The Morning coming from one of the best mixtape/album of the 2011: House Of Ballons..


1. Frank Ocean - Novacane
I think Novacane it will forever be one of those song that in 5+ years time when someone plays it to me, it will be like hearing it as if it was the first time, because the song is that nice. I don't really know how many times I had to hit the replay button while writting this because I am listening to it while writing this. I really gotta give a big shout out to Frank Ocean, for serving us this ultimate song and it will forever be there with our favourest songs of all time and we hope he does continue this amazing work of his and giving us more and more good songs, mind tripping, inspiring songs like this in the future.
